Second Guardians National Tournament

In June 2018, the second ever Guardians of the City National Tournament was held. Previously, the competition was open only to secondary school students. This year, it featured several new categories - ITE and Polytechnic category, NSF category and Open category. The tournament was held at Suntec City Convention Centre on 9-10 June, 2018.

Many of the finalists from the previous year came back, including the defending champions, Fuhua Secondary. Several teams from various SAF units also took part, including representatives from the Commandos and the Naval Divers. The competition was much tighter this year, due to the presence of many experienced players from last year's edition of the tournament.

Some of the players came from interesting sounding teams.

In addition to the pre-registered teams, a demonstration table was also set up to showcase the game to other Asia Game Fest visitors who were just passing by.

The guys from The Smart Local, who were here at AGF to cover the event, were so intrigued by the game at the demo table that they signed up immediately as walk-ins registrants for the Public Category of the tournament. In the end, they came in runners-up, even though they had only one night to learn the game!

The finals of each category were played on the main AGF stage, with video coverage for the benefit of spectators.

The winners for the secondary school category turned out to be the defending champions, Fuhua Sec, who had put a lot of time and effort into practice sessions before the tournament. Congratulations to them!
